EH Series is GoodWe’s earlier single-phase high-voltage hybrid-ready inverter family. Its retained model range comprises GW3600-EH, GW5000-EH and GW6000-EH.
What hybrid-ready means here
EH can operate as a grid-connected solar inverter and battery-ready units can be activated for compatible high-voltage storage through a code-based upgrade. Activation status belongs to the individual inverter record rather than the EH name.
All three versions have two MPPTs. Their solar-input power, AC output, battery charge and backup ratings follow the exact model, while all three share the same battery-voltage window and tracker-current limits.

The battery type is lithium-ion. A voltage match alone is insufficient: the exact battery, control unit and permitted module count remain part of the product match.
Backup and identification
EH has a separate single-phase backup output with transfer below 10 milliseconds. That figure belongs to the inverter. The installed backup arrangement still depends on circuit selection, protection, load starting current and whether the activation and compatible battery are present.
GoodWe’s downloads still include the original EH documents, but its main catalogue and 2026 residential warranty foreground EH Plus+ for newer equipment. Current new-supply status for original EH is therefore unconfirmed. GW5000-EH and GW5000N-EH are also different codes, with the latter belonging to the EH Plus+ schedule.
GoodWe’s March 2026 European terms give five years to covered EH units made before 1 January 2026. Original EH is not in the terms’ ten-year list for products made from that date, although a conditional extension section names EH where all of its separate requirements are met.
UK connection boundary
The exact inverter code, firmware and configured protection need matching current type-test evidence. Existing solar or battery inverters at the property also contribute to the connection assessment.
