Growatt APX is a modular high-voltage LFP battery family. The original S0 system and APX 2.0 use different power or master modules, battery-module codes and system documents.

Original S0 and APX 2.0

The original S0 arrangement uses APX 5.0P-B1 modules with a power module selected for the compatible inverter family. Original S0 power is specified as nominal power, whereas APX 2.0 uses maximum and short-duration peak output. The terms are not interchangeable ratings.

APX 2.0 uses a master module plus additional battery modules. The same master-module platform supports single-phase and three-phase systems, but the available output differs between those phase arrangements. It also adds a heating film and has a wider ambient-temperature range.

Both generations have module-level energy optimisation. It does not make original S0 and APX 2.0 parts interchangeable.

Inverter matching and two-cluster systems

Selected MIN, MOD and MID battery-ready inverters support specific APX arrangements. The required power or master module changes with the inverter family, so an APX description on its own is not a complete system specification.

Generation Inverter family Battery code Power or master unit Limit Backup unit
Original APX MIN 2500-6000TL-XH APX 5.0P-B1 APX 55027-P0 1–6 modules SYN 50-XH-10
Original APX MOD 3000-10000TL3-XH(BP) APX 5.0P-B1 APX 98020-P1 or APX 98034-P2 1–6 modules SYN 50-XH-30
Original APX MID 11-30KTL3-XH APX 5.0P-B1 APX 98034-P2 1–6 modules per cluster; up to two clusters SYN 100-XH-30
APX 2.0 MOD-HU APX 5.0-30.0M-S3 unified master module within the M-S3 system one master plus up to five modules system-specific

The public APX 2.0 material does not give the unified master module a separate ordering code. APX 5.0-30.0M-S3 is therefore the usable system identifier; a component code should come from the supplied bill of materials rather than being inferred.

Named MID-XH systems can use two original APX clusters. That is a specific arrangement rather than a limit that applies to every APX inverter or installation. Module code, power unit and permitted cluster count need to match.

European inverter models require the EU APX model. Regional battery and inverter codes therefore need to match even where the electrical family name appears identical.

The datasheet warranty statements are also subject to Growatt’s worldwide service terms, which link cover to the country of sale and installation and allow the sales order to set different terms.

APX generations and UK component supply

Growatt’s worldwide product centre still carried the original and 2.0 generations on 23 July 2026. Current UK supply of every battery module, base and power or master module was unconfirmed on that date.
