The Ecodan cylinder package is the indoor hot-water and hydraulic part of a Mitsubishi Electric monobloc heat-pump system. It is separate from the outdoor unit, and its code identifies the cylinder form, capacity and equipment arrangement.
Current FTC7 cylinder forms
Mitsubishi Electric’s current catalogue has three main descriptions. The FTC7 monobloc packaged cylinder uses the EHPT20X-MEHEW code in its product information. The slimline pre-plumbed family is offered in 150 and 170 litre sizes under EHPT15-17X-UKHLEWS. Standard pre-plumbed forms cover 150, 170, 210, 250 and 300 litre sizes under the wider EHPT15-30X-UKHEW-S/L description, with two 210 litre forms shown in the catalogue.
The packaged page describes hot water, heating and controls in one indoor product and identifies a colour touchscreen and MELCloud support. Mitsubishi Electric also describes plate heat-exchanger technology on its cylinder range. The precise valves, pumps, backup heating and connection arrangement still need to be taken from the exact product sheet and installation manual.
Capacity and compatibility
An outdoor unit’s kW class does not establish the required cylinder volume. Cylinder selection depends on the household’s hot-water demand, reheat design, available space and the approved pairing with the outdoor and control equipment.
The current packaged-cylinder page displays compatibility with Ecodan R290 and several R32 outdoor families. That is a catalogue relationship, not evidence that every historic Ecodan unit accepts every FTC7 cylinder. Warranty record
Mitsubishi Electric’s residential terms on 23 July 2026 gave Ecodan domestic-hot-water cylinders three years across its Standard Account Holder, Accredited Ecodan Installer and Heating Business Solutions Partner routes. Registration within 30 days, annual servicing and the remaining cylinder conditions apply.
