Ecodan R32 covers several Mitsubishi Electric monobloc outdoor units rather than one model. The standard range, compact unit and Zubadan family have different codes and operating schedules even though all use R32 refrigerant.
Current catalogue forms
The live UK catalogue on 23 July 2026 included a compact 5 kW PUZ-WM50 class, standard 6, 8.5 and 11.2 kW PUZ-WM classes and a 14 kW PUZ-HWM140 Zubadan family. Single-phase and three-phase forms are available for parts of the schedule, while -BS denotes coastal protection.

Each base code also has an applicable -BS coastal-protection form.
The standard range operates down to -20°C, while Zubadan has a lower -28°C limit. Output and seasonal data also vary by complete code, phase and test temperature.
The range is being phased out
Mitsubishi Electric announced in June 2025 that it would begin phasing out Ecodan R32 in favour of its extended R290 range. A January 2026 update said one year remained before withdrawal. R32 manufacturer pages and exact MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) records were still current at this review, so the page retains current status while recording the planned withdrawal.
Current stock, the intended commissioning date and the manufacturer’s support position determine whether an R32 model is still available as new equipment. An existing installation needs the full outdoor-unit code and serial number because Ecodan R32 is not enough to select the correct manual or replacement part.
Certification and warranty
Current MCS records included exact PUZ-WM50, PUZ-WM60, PUZ-WM85, PUZ-WM112 and PUZ-HWM140 forms on 23 July 2026. Their presence was a dated register result rather than a promise about certification after the phaseout.
Mitsubishi Electric’s residential terms on 23 July 2026 gave sub-20 kW Ecodan units three, five or seven years according to installer status. Registration within 30 days and the remaining terms apply.
