Aquarea L Series is Panasonic’s current R290 High Performance hydraulic-split family. The refrigerant remains in the outdoor unit and water runs between the outdoor and indoor equipment, which distinguishes it from a refrigerant-split K Series system.
Current codes and indoor forms
The current 5, 7 and 9 kW outdoor-unit classes use WH-WDG05LE5, WH-WDG07LE5 and WH-WDG09LE5. Panasonic pairs these with WH-SDC0509L3E5 indoor hydraulic units or WH-ADC0509L3E5UK All in One indoor units in current UK certification records.
The indoor code matters even where the outdoor unit is unchanged. All in One includes an integrated domestic-hot-water cylinder, while the bi-bloc indoor unit uses separate hot-water storage where required. Backup-heater variants also form part of the full code.
Temperature figures belong to the L range
Panasonic’s current High Performance page states water temperatures up to 75°C and operation without backup heating at -25°C for its R290 hydraulic range. These are operating-envelope statements rather than the design output at every temperature. A project calculation needs the exact unit’s capacity and efficiency at the selected outdoor and water conditions.
R290 is flammable, so the current installation manual’s outdoor-unit siting rules and protection zone apply. The hydraulic connection does not remove the refrigerant safety requirements around the outdoor unit.
Certification record
The MCS Product Directory returned six current L Series combinations on 23 July 2026: 5, 7 and 9 kW outdoor units paired with All in One or bi-bloc indoor units. Each showed a certification period ending 31 May 2033 at that review. This is a dated register result and the exact proposed combination should be checked again for a project.
