Aquarea is Panasonic’s umbrella name for domestic air-to-water heat pumps. It covers outdoor units, indoor hydraulic equipment, integrated cylinders, controllers and connected services across several product generations.
The name needs three more details
First, the generation letter identifies a product platform. Current UK pages include M and L generation equipment using R290 refrigerant and K and J generation equipment using R32.
Second, High Performance and T-CAP are different range descriptions. High Performance includes K and L split arrangements and J monoblocs. T-CAP includes the newer M platform as well as K split and J monobloc equipment.
Third, the indoor arrangement changes what is installed. All in One contains a domestic-hot-water cylinder and hydraulic equipment. A bi-bloc has separate indoor and outdoor units. A monobloc contains its refrigerant circuit outdoors. M Series can also use an outdoor unit with a controller or control module rather than a conventional indoor hydraulic box.
Product codes establish the combination
Panasonic outdoor and indoor codes begin WH-, while KIT- references identify defined combinations. A model description such as Aquarea 9 kW can therefore refer to more than one refrigerant, supply arrangement and indoor package.
The exact outdoor code, indoor code, electric-heater form and cylinder capacity should be recorded. This is also the level needed to match installation manuals and MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) records.
Certification and warranty
Current exact records for M, L, K and J generation systems were present in the MCS Product Directory on 23 July 2026. A family or marketing-range page does not establish certification for an alternative combination.
Panasonic’s public warranty material did not provide one unqualified domestic duration at review. A live page described a purchased seven-year route through an eligible air-to-water PRO Partner, but also contained historical scheme wording. The certificate issued for the specific system should record the applicable term and conditions.
