BasicCharge is Rolec’s steel commercial charging pedestal with an illuminated head. The current family includes one or two universal Type 2 sockets and model schedules of 7.4 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase per outlet.
Model-dependent access
Access options include plug-and-go, mobile-app and RFID control, with contactless payment on selected models. OCPP 1.6, MID-approved metering, 4G, Wi-Fi and Ethernet are available within the family.
The first two digits after ROLEC identify the user-interface and payment hardware:

OCPP 1.6 provides a route to a compatible management platform, but it does not identify which platform or account is supplied with a particular pedestal.
Power and load management
The per-outlet rating does not establish that both outlets can deliver full power simultaneously. Static and dynamic load management are available, and the complete site supply determines the available total.
The distinction is material on a dual-outlet pedestal: 22 kW per outlet describes the rating of each three-phase outlet, not a guaranteed 44 kW site supply. The installed load-management arrangement can reduce one or both outlets when the available capacity is lower.
Protection includes AC overload and fault-current protection, 6 mA DC leakage protection, PME fault detection, surge protection and overtemperature protection.
BasicCharge measures 205 × 1,130 × 205 mm. Its enclosure is rated IP65, its socket is rated IP54 and the assembly is rated IK10. It can be surface or root mounted and has an operating range of -30 to 50 °C. The warranty is three years, subject to its terms.
