HEX is Rolec’s heavy-duty steel commercial charging pedestal for two or four parking bays. It is available with universal Type 2 sockets and 7.4 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase schedules per outlet. The four-way format is intended to serve several bays from one central pedestal.
Equipment options
Access options are plug-and-go, app and RFID, with contactless payment on selected models. A five-inch display is also model-dependent. OCPP 1.6 allows a compatible chargepoint-management provider to handle access, charging records and payment. The family includes MID-approved metering plus 4G, Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
These options create many SKUs. A tender or handover record should identify outlet count, phase, access hardware, display, communications service and back-office provider rather than using only the HEX family name.
Power and protection
The input schedules are 230 V single-phase and 400 V three-phase, both ±10%. Built-in protection covers AC overload and fault current, 6 mA DC fault current, PME faults, surges and overtemperature. The charger also supports static and dynamic load management.
Two or four 22 kW labels do not guarantee 44 or 88 kW of simultaneous vehicle charging. The available total depends on the site connection, feeder, diversity strategy and configured power sharing. Each vehicle may also accept less than the outlet rating.
The coated-steel enclosure measures 406 × 1,153 × 348 mm and is rated IP54 / IK10. It supports surface or root mounting. The installation design needs the current pedestal drawing, foundation arrangement and cable-entry schedule for the chosen model.
