EHS Mono R290 is Samsung’s current propane-refrigerant monobloc range. The refrigerant circuit is sealed within the outdoor unit and the building-side connection is hydraulic.
Four capacity classes and several combinations
The live UK page lists 5, 8, 12 and 16 kW capacity classes. Outdoor codes begin AE050CXY, AE080CXY, AE120CXY and AE160CXY. The complete suffix matters because it distinguishes electrical and control arrangements.
Samsung can pair the outdoor unit with a control kit, a wall-mounted hydro unit or a ClimateHub indoor package. ClimateHub adds hydraulic components and hot-water storage; it does not change the outdoor unit’s rated capacity. Project and handover records therefore need both codes.
Temperature and refrigerant boundaries
Samsung states a heating-water range up to 75°C and operation down to -25°C on current UK product sheets. Those are operating-envelope limits rather than the delivered output at every design condition. The heat-loss calculation still needs the exact model’s capacity at the chosen outdoor and flow temperatures.
R290 is an A3 flammable refrigerant. The installation design needs the protection zone, clearances and other siting rules from the manual for the exact outdoor code. Monobloc construction avoids field refrigerant pipework between indoor and outdoor equipment but does not remove these outdoor-unit requirements.
Certification record
Current exact 5, 8, 12 and 16 kW R290 Mono combinations were present in the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Product Directory on 23 July 2026. Results included both stand-alone control forms and paired indoor packages, with different certification periods. The proposed complete combination is the relevant directory check.
