Sigen Energy Gateway is the switching, distribution, metering and control layer used in Sigenergy backup designs. It is separate from the Sigen Energy Controller and from the battery. The current home manual covers several Home and HomeMax models, while the European warranty also names HomePro. Their electrical ratings and permitted connections differ.
What it does
The gateway monitors the grid and coordinates the change to an installed backup supply. Depending on the exact model, it can provide inverter connection ports, a protected-load output, a smart port and generator control. This can support whole-home or selected-circuit designs, but the model rating, incoming supply, protected loads and earthing arrangement decide what is actually possible.
The reviewed HomeMax datasheet covers SP 12K and TP variants. It publishes 100 A single-phase and 76 A three-phase grid connections, with nominal power depending on the stated supply voltage. The single-phase model has up to three inverter ports and the three-phase model up to two. Both list generator two-wire start. These figures should not be copied to Home or HomePro models.
Sigenergy gives a zero-millisecond load-side disruption figure, but the datasheet defines this as a Sigen Energy Gateway used with a Sigen Energy Controller and Sigen Battery. Its test condition also requires controller power to exceed the total backup load. Motors, compressors and electronic loads can impose their own starting and ride-through limits.
Documents and warranty
A January 2025 product-change notice for units sold in Africa and Asia-Pacific says a new Home version completely replaces the previous model and notes intermediate versions. It is useful evidence that several hardware revisions exist in those regions, not evidence of the UK product sequence. The label and supplied document revision therefore matter for installed equipment, dimensions, terminal layout and replacement work.
The European inverter-system warranty available on 22 July 2026 gives five years to the named Gateway Home, HomePro and HomeMax products. The same document gives two years to wear components and other listed accessories. It includes installation, connectivity, firmware and claim conditions. Separate commercial gateway schedules should not be used for a home model.
