SigenStor is Sigenergy’s established modular solar and battery system. It is assembled from separate functions rather than being a single fixed-capacity appliance: a Sigen Energy Controller, one to six Sigen Battery modules and, where specified, a Sigen EV DC Charging Module. The controller integrates PV conversion, battery conversion and energy management. The optional gateway used for grid-disconnection switching is a separate product.
Capacity and power
Current battery documents cover BAT 5.0, 6.0, 8.0 and 10.0. Their stated usable capacities are 5.2, 5.84, 7.8 and 8.76 kWh. A controller accepts one to six modules, but a system capacity should be calculated from the actual module labels rather than a rounded 5 or 8 kWh description. The built-in pack optimiser allows supported packs with different capacity, age or state of health to be managed individually, subject to the current compatibility and firmware rules.
Controller power is independent of storage capacity. Sigenergy publishes distinct single-phase and three-phase Energy Controller schedules, with different PV voltage ranges, tracker counts and nominal outputs. The exact controller model therefore determines the generation-approval and backup-design data.
Backup and EV charging
SigenStor can form part of an on-grid, backup or off-grid arrangement. Backup needs the applicable Sigen Energy Gateway or another documented switching arrangement, sufficient battery and controller power and correctly designed protected circuits. Sigenergy’s zero-millisecond figure is specifically a tested load-side disruption claim for a system using its Gateway, Energy Controller and Battery under stated conditions. It is not a guarantee that every load will operate through every outage.
The optional EV DC module uses CCS2 and is published in 12.5 and 25 kW versions. Sigenergy describes the system as V2X-ready, but its own product page says functionality depends on vehicle capability, relevant standards and future support announcements.
Warranty and UK connection status
The European SigenStor warranty available on 22 July 2026 lists ten years for the batteries and named SP and TP Energy Controllers, and three years for the EV DC module. The reviewed warranty does not name TPLV controllers. Battery performance cover is 60% at ten years or the model-specific throughput limit, whichever occurs first. Internet connectivity, firmware, authorised installation and other conditions apply.
For a UK design, the exact Energy Controller needs a current record in ENA Connect Direct. The former public Type Test Register closed on 16 April 2024 and is not the current database. A family name, overseas certificate or similar-looking model number is not a substitute for the applicable live record.
