SMA eCharger EVC22-3AC-20 is a socketed Type 2 wallbox rather than a tethered charger. Charging is configurable from 1.38 to 22 kW, subject to the building supply, circuit setting and vehicle. It is a distinct product from SMA EV Charger 7.4 / 22.
Connection and protection
The charger supports single-phase 230 V and three-phase 400 V connection, with a maximum of 32 A per line conductor. Its Type 2 socket has a shutter. Optional cables are available in 5, 7.5 and 10 m lengths, but a cable is not supplied as standard. The enclosure is IP54 and IK10, measures 270 × 495 × 190 mm and weighs 5 kg.
The product includes functional 6 mA DC residual-current detection.
Solar and managed charging
eCharger can operate as a stand-alone charger. PV-optimised charging and coordinated household energy management need Sunny Home Manager 2.0.
Communications are Ethernet, Wi-Fi and RS485, with RFID for user identification.
