MultiPlus-II is a family of bidirectional inverter/chargers. It can supply AC loads from a battery, charge the battery when an AC source is present and transfer the maintained output between those operating states. It has one AC input and two outputs.
Ratings and product codes
The current product page includes 3000, 4k, 4k5, 5000, 6k5, 8000, 10000 and 15000 classes. Its two current 230 V datasheets map these complete codes:

The full code is more informative than the family name. In 48/5000/70-50, for example, the figures identify a 48 V battery system, 5000 VA inverter class, 70 A charger and 50 A transfer limit. That 5000 VA class has 4000 W continuous output at 25°C. Volt-amperes and watts are different ratings and should not be substituted for each other.
The main output changes to inverter operation in less than 20 milliseconds. The second output is live only when AC is available at the input, allowing loads that should not discharge the battery to remain outside the maintained supply.
Solar and monitoring boundaries
Solar can be integrated through separate SmartSolar controllers on the DC side or compatible grid-tied PV equipment on the AC side.
MultiPlus-II has built-in anti-islanding for use in Victron Energy Storage Systems and also supports off-grid systems.
VE.Bus supports configuration and system integration. Remote monitoring through the VRM portal needs a GX communication centre, such as Cerbo GX, unless the installed product is a separate MultiPlus-II GX version with that hardware built in.
Parallel and three-phase operation are supported under the same-model and system rules. Parallel systems using 8, 10 or 15 kVA units require an external AC transfer switch.
UK grid evidence
The G98 document covers named 24 V and 48 V 3 kVA and 48 V 5 kVA forms. Separate G99 documents cover named 3, 4.5, 5 and 6.5 kVA UK configurations and 48 V 8, 10 and 15 kVA GB or Northern Ireland configurations. Coverage also depends on the named firmware, settings and single- or three-phase configuration; it does not extend to every item bearing the MultiPlus-II name.
