Cerbo GX is a communication centre for a Victron energy system. It runs Venus OS and exchanges information with supported inverter/chargers, solar charge controllers, batteries, meters and other devices. It does not convert electricity, charge a battery or provide backup power by itself.

Local and remote access

The Cerbo GX can present the system through a local browser interface, its Wi-Fi access point, supported VictronConnect routes or an optional GX Touch display. An internet-connected unit can send data to the Victron Remote Management portal for remote viewing and supported controls.

These routes should not be treated as identical. VRM depends on an internet connection. Local access depends on the network, display and interface actually installed. The optional GX Touch 50 and GX Touch 70 are separate display accessories rather than screens built into the Cerbo GX.

Ports and product numbers

Cerbo GX accepts an 8 to 70 V DC supply and has three isolated VE.Direct ports plus two paralleled VE.Bus RJ45 sockets across all three product numbers. Its IP20 enclosure measures 78 × 154 × 48 mm and operates from -20°C to 50°C.

The CAN-port arrangement is not identical across every product number. BPP900450100 has a non-isolated VE.Can port and a separate BMS-Can port. BPP900450110 and BPP900451100 have one isolated and one non-isolated VE.Can port. A design that depends on those interfaces needs the exact product code rather than the family name.

Bluetooth has a narrower role than its presence might suggest: it supports initial connection and network configuration. It cannot connect the Cerbo GX directly to other Victron products such as SmartSolar charge controllers, which use their supported wired or system communication paths.
