Battery-Box Premium HVC is a modular high-voltage LFP battery family from the earlier BCU C1.0 generation. The family is sold by some continental European distributors, but it does not appear in BYD’s current Battery-Box range. Current UK new-supply, inverter support and warranty status are unconfirmed.
Seven tower sizes
One HVC tower uses three to nine 2.61 kWh modules connected in series. The product names are HVC 7.8, 10.4, 13.1, 15.7, 18.3, 20.9 and 23.5. Exact usable energy runs from 7.83 to 23.49 kWh. Up to three identical HVC towers can operate in parallel, giving a 70.5 kWh maximum.
Every size has a 50 A maximum output current and a 75 A peak for three seconds. Nominal voltage rises from 153.6 V in the three-module tower to 460.8 V in the nine-module tower. This changing voltage is why compatibility has to be established for a particular inverter and module count.
Battery round-trip efficiency is at least 96%. The C1.0 product is rated IP55 and operates from -10°C to 50°C, with output derated between -10°C and 5°C.
System and availability boundaries
HVC is a DC battery for an external inverter and has no independent AC output.
Current compatible-inverter support for HVC is unconfirmed. HVC 10.4 remains available from a continental European distributor, but that does not establish support for every HVC size or UK supply.
The C1.0 product has a ten-year warranty subject to a separate warranty letter. Current UK and European HVC warranty terms are unconfirmed.
Similar names
HVC is separate from HVS, HVM and the newer HVE. Their modules, voltage schedules and control arrangements should not be mixed merely because all use the Battery-Box Premium name.
