GEN24 Plus

Fronius GEN24 Plus is the battery-enabled version of the GEN24 inverter family. Primo GEN24 Plus is single-phase and Symo GEN24 Plus is three-phase. Both combine PV conversion, compatible high-voltage battery control, monitoring and backup functions in one inverter platform.

Standard and Plus

GEN24 and GEN24 Plus use related hardware, but their enabled functions differ. Standard GEN24 includes a PV Point basic backup output. Battery operation and Full Backup are enabled on Plus models. Fronius states that a standard GEN24 can gain those functions through the paid UP.storage software upgrade where the programme is available for the country and device.

The current SC, or Superior Current, generation accepts higher PV input currents and includes Arc Guard arc-fault detection. The exact model, power class, Plus status and SC generation distinguish it from other GEN24 products.

Phase and power classes

The current family page lists single-phase Primo SC power classes from 3 to 6 kW and three-phase Symo schedules covering 3 to 12 kW. Both use two MPPTs and IP66 enclosures. Older non-SC GEN24 models also appear in support and certification material, so the model-specific datasheet remains the source for input current, voltage and output limits.

Battery and backup boundaries

Battery compatibility is defined by the current Fronius compatibility material and software requirements. Reserva is Fronius’s own current home battery, while other supported batteries may appear in older or market-specific lists.

PV Point is a separate basic backup output and is not the same as whole-property backup. Full Backup needs a compatible battery plus approved grid isolation and switching. Fronius states that Full Backup is not available on Symo GEN24 3.0 to 5.0 Plus. The electrical design determines which loads remain supplied and how phase limits apply.
