Primo GEN24
Fronius Primo GEN24 is the single-phase branch of the GEN24 family, with standard and Plus software positions and model-specific power classes.

Fronius Primo GEN24 is the single-phase part of the GEN24 inverter family. It appears as standard GEN24 and battery-enabled GEN24 Plus, with newer SC versions designed for higher PV module currents. The complete suffix and power class establish the functions and electrical limits of the unit.
Power classes and PV input
Fronius’s support selector retains Primo GEN24 models from 3 to 10 kW, including different market voltage versions. The current European SC family table lists 3, 3.6, 4, 4.6, 5 and 6 kW classes. These ranges should not be combined into an assumed specification for one unit.
Current family data gives two MPPTs, an IP66 enclosure and a 65 to 600 V DC input range for the SC schedule. For example, the non-SC Primo GEN24 4.0 page states 4 kW nominal AC output, two trackers and model-specific input-current limits. The exact datasheet remains necessary for string design.
Standard, Plus and backup
A standard Primo GEN24 includes PV Point, a basic backup output of up to 3 kW in suitable sunlight and within the model’s rules. It is not automatically a battery inverter. Fronius states that battery operation and Full Backup can be activated through UP.storage where the upgrade is available.
Primo GEN24 Plus has the battery and Full Backup functions enabled. Full Backup still needs a compatible high-voltage battery and the approved grid-disconnection, switching, protection and earthing arrangement. It does not follow merely from the word Plus on the inverter.
Monitoring and warranty
The inverter includes WLAN, Ethernet, Solar.web monitoring and open interfaces including Modbus. Correct meter placement is required for consumption, export control and battery operation.
Warranty depends on country, commissioning date and registration. For eligible new inverters commissioned from 1 June 2026, Fronius states that Solar.web registration is required for its free extension.
