Ecodan PUD monobloc does not match a current Mitsubishi Electric UK residential heat-pump family. Current manufacturer pages use PUZ, not PUD, at the start of the relevant monobloc outdoor-unit codes.
Current UK product codes
The current R290 range uses PUZ-WZ50, PUZ-WZ60, PUZ-WZ85, PUZ-WZ100 and PUZ-WZ120 forms. Current and phasing-out R32 records include PUZ-WM and PUZ-HWM families. On 23 July 2026, the MCS Product Directory contained exact records under those PUZ forms but no Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan result for PUD.
The three letters may still appear in a historic or non-UK document. Technical data from a PUZ unit cannot be assigned to PUD without identifying the source product.
How to resolve the description
The outdoor-unit rating plate, invoice and commissioning record carry the product identifier. It normally starts PUZ- and continues with letters for the product family, digits for the capacity form and letters for the supply or variant. A photographed rating plate is more reliable than a shortened name typed into a survey note.
If PUD appears in project paperwork, it may be a transcription error. Correcting it to PUZ is only justified once the physical unit or original manufacturer document confirms that reading. The remaining code still matters because PUZ-WZ is R290 equipment, while PUZ-WM and PUZ-HWM are R32 families with different operating data and lifecycle status.
The exact corrected code determines which manufacturer information and certification record applies. No PUZ specifications are assigned to the unverified PUD wording.
