Pylontech UP5000 is a low-voltage rack-mounted LFP battery. Its nominal energy is 4.8 kWh and the manufacturer manual gives 4.56 kWh usable at 95% depth of discharge. The current website navigation names UP5000 and the download system retains its manual and UKCA certificate, but the live product database did not provide a complete current product record at this review. UK new-supply status is unconfirmed.
Electrical and physical data
Nominal voltage is 48 V. The installation manual gives 90 A continuous charge and discharge current and 95 to 200 A for 15 seconds. A separate combined manufacturer sheet gives 50 A as its recommended current, 74 to 89 A for 60 seconds and 90 to 200 A for 15 seconds. These are different definitions from different documents, not one continuous-to-peak schedule. Temperature, state of charge and the connected inverter can reduce the applicable limit.
The module measures 442 by 420 by 165 mm, weighs about 40 kg and uses an IP20 enclosure. It is designed for a suitable rack or cabinet and communicates over CAN or RS485. The published limit is 16 batteries in one group.
Mixing with US-series modules
The UP5000 manual expressly lists US3000C, US2000C, US3000 and US2000 as compatible for selected mixed groups. It also gives a master-battery priority and limits positions nine to sixteen to UP5000, US3000C or US2000C. This is a documented exception, not a general rule that any Pylontech 48 V battery may be mixed.
Production date, firmware, cable arrangement and inverter compatibility remain relevant. The manual says the latest production unit of the same type should be used as master and places UP5000 first in the priority order for a mixed group.
Warranty boundary
No European and UK UP5000 warranty document was identified in the current manufacturer download record used for this review. The current US-series terms do not include UP5000 in their product definition. Warranty duration and capacity conditions therefore need the exact document supplied by the authorised reseller rather than being borrowed from US5000.
