Tigo Access Point, usually shortened to TAP, is the rooftop communications device in a monitored Tigo TS4 installation. It communicates wirelessly with compatible TS4-A and TS4-X devices, then sends their information to a Cloud Connect Advanced gateway over an RS485 cable.
TAP coverage and placement
One TAP supports up to 300 TS4 devices, subject to environmental conditions. Placement is limited to 10 m from the nearest TS4 and 35 m from the farthest. Roof shape, level changes and objects blocking line of sight can require additional access points even where the device count is well below 300.
The TAP should sit beneath the array, near the centre of the TS4 group, and must not be placed in an attic. Its enclosure is rated IP68 / Type 3R.

The TAP’s cable to the CCA carries RS485 communications and DC power. The cable range is 18 to 22 AWG, and multiple TAPs can be connected in a daisy chain. One CCA supports up to seven TAPs.
