TS4 Flex MLPE is Tigo Energy’s family of add-on module-level power electronics for solar arrays. A TS4 unit sits at a panel and works alongside a string inverter. It is not a microinverter and it does not turn the panel’s DC output into grid AC.
The suffix defines the function
Tigo divides the range by letter. TS4 O products add optimisation, module-level monitoring and rapid shutdown. S products provide monitoring and rapid shutdown without optimisation. F products are dedicated to rapid shutdown and do not provide module-level production data through Tigo Energy Intelligence.
The current A family covers modules up to 725 W. The newer X family raises the published module limit to 800 W and the short-circuit current limit to 25 A. TS4-A-2F differs again because one unit takes two module inputs. The complete part number identifies the applicable power, current and module-input arrangement.
Communications equipment
The current O and S configurations require a Tigo Access Point and Cloud Connect Advanced. The TAP communicates wirelessly with the rooftop units, while the CCA logs the information and connects the system to Tigo Energy Intelligence. F and 2F products use power-line communication from an RSS Transmitter or a compatible inverter with the transmitter integrated.
Compatibility depends on the panel’s operating current, short-circuit current, voltage, power, connectors, cable arrangement and maximum system voltage. Rapid shutdown also depends on using a complete tested configuration and the correct communications equipment.
Rapid-shutdown wording
O, S and F products form part of compatible US-certified PV rapid-shutdown systems. Certification applies at system level and is tied to US National Electrical Code rules. It does not establish compatibility with every inverter or the requirements for a UK solar installation.
The range carries a stated 25-year product warranty. Exact terms, registration requirements and exclusions remain those in the warranty document supplied for the product.
