SUN2000 is Huawei's umbrella name for many residential, commercial and utility solar inverter families rather than a single model.

SUN2000 is Huawei’s umbrella name for a wide set of solar inverters and energy controllers. It appears on single-phase residential equipment, three-phase hybrid systems and much larger commercial and utility inverters. SUN2000 alone is not a usable model description.
Residential naming
The current residential configuration tool groups single-phase L1, LB0 and LC0 separately from three-phase M1, MAP0 and MB0. The suffix identifies the electrical platform, but Huawei also publishes generic and UK-launched High Current Version L1 schedules under overlapping codes. The product data plate and matching document revision therefore remain essential.
For example, KTL-L1 and KTL-M1 are battery-compatible residential families with different phase arrangements and battery voltage windows. Their backup boxes are also different. LB0, LC0, MAP0 and MB0 use their own system tables and should not inherit L1 or M1 limits.
Solar-only and hybrid functions
Some SUN2000 products are solar string inverters. Others include a direct high-voltage connection for a named LUNA2000 battery. The presence of SUN2000 in the code does not establish battery support.
The same model-level approach applies to Huawei module controllers. Residential optimiser and MERC equipment belong to different design tables, and any permitted arrangement is tied to the inverter code and firmware.
Exact-model grid evidence and Huawei backup equipment
G98 or G99 evidence is tied to the exact inverter model and document revision. The DNO assessment also considers the phase arrangement, all existing generation and any export limitation.
Backup needs more than a battery-compatible SUN2000. Huawei specifies supported battery and BackupBox or SmartGuard equipment for named inverter families.
SUN2000 catalogue and UK product-security records
Huawei maintains a worldwide SUN2000 catalogue and a current European warranty policy. UK PSTI (Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure) statements name selected residential inverter codes, with support periods that concern product security rather than hardware warranty. Current UK supply remains model-specific and is unconfirmed on this umbrella page.
