MSZ-HR is Mitsubishi Electric’s R32 Classic wall-mounted family for fixed room heating and cooling. It uses a white wall-mounted indoor unit and covers five pair sizes from the 2.5 kW to 7.1 kW nominal cooling classes.
Position in the M Series range
HR is the entry-level Classic family in the current wall-mounted range. Its standard controls include a daily timer. MELCloud Home needs the optional Wi-Fi interface, and Plasma Quad Connect is also optional.
The family has two indoor cabinet sizes. HR25, HR35 and HR50 are 838 mm wide; HR60 and HR71 increase to 923 mm. The outdoor cabinets also step up across the range.
Model codes and pairings
MSZ identifies the indoor unit and MUZ the pair outdoor unit. HR is the family, 25, 35, 50, 60 or 71 is the capacity class and VF2 is the complete current scheduled revision segment. Each indoor unit has an exact MUZ-HR pair outdoor unit with the same capacity class and revision. MSZ-HR50VF2, for example, is the indoor unit in the 5.0 kW nominal cooling class and pairs with MUZ-HR50VF2.

HR35 has 3.4 kW nominal cooling. The 35 in its code identifies the capacity class rather than serving as a decimal specification.
Controls and configurations
The optional Wi-Fi interface adds MELCloud Home monitoring and control. The indoor units can also connect to compatible MXZ-HA multi-split outdoor equipment.
HR60 and HR71 permit 30 m maximum pair pipe runs and a 15 m maximum height difference. The three smaller pairs use 20 m and 12 m limits.
