EHS Mono

EHS Mono is Samsung's umbrella description for monobloc air-to-water heat pumps rather than one fixed refrigerant or capacity schedule.

EHS Mono is Samsung’s architecture name for air-to-water heat pumps whose refrigerant circuit remains in the outdoor unit. Water pipework connects the outdoor unit to the building’s hydraulic equipment.

Three different Mono schedules

The current UK site contains three separate Mono ranges. EHS Mono R290 covers 5, 8, 12 and 16 kW classes and states leaving water up to 75°C. EHS Mono HT Quiet uses R32 in 8, 12 and 14 kW classes and states up to 70°C. The R32 Mono page displays 5, 8 and 12 kW classes, with its detailed 5 kW sheet giving a 65°C upper heating-water limit.

EHS Mono on its own therefore does not identify the refrigerant, capacity or performance envelope. The outdoor code distinguishes CXY R290, BXY HT Quiet and RXY R32 families.

Indoor equipment remains part of the system

A monobloc can use a Samsung control kit with a separate cylinder, a wall-mounted hydro unit or a ClimateHub package. ClimateHub combines hydraulic components and hot-water storage in one indoor enclosure. The indoor choice affects cylinder capacity, backup heater, controls and electrical requirements.

The outdoor unit, controller or indoor unit and cylinder are separate parts of the system record. Those codes also select the correct installation and commissioning documents.

Certification and siting boundaries

Current Samsung Mono combinations were present in the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Product Directory on 23 July 2026. The register names exact outdoor and indoor or control combinations rather than certifying the EHS Mono umbrella description.

The refrigerant also changes the siting rules. R290 products use a flammable A3 refrigerant and have protection-zone requirements in their installation manual. R32 products have their own equipment and service instructions. The manual for one sub-range should not be applied to another because both are called Mono.
