TS4-X-S

TS4-X-S provides module-level monitoring and rapid shutdown for one panel in a string-inverter solar system. It is the higher-current counterpart to TS4-A-S. The S suffix is important because this model does not include the optimisation function found in TS4-X-O.

Electrical ratings

Maximum module power is 800 W, maximum operating input current is 20 A and maximum short-circuit current is 25 A. Input voltage is 12 to 80 V and maximum efficiency is 99.6%.

The ordering table contains 1,000 V and 1,500 V maximum-system-voltage versions. The exact part number, connector and UL or IEC certification determine which limit applies.

These figures describe the TS4-X-S boundary. The solar module, string inverter and full string each retain their own operating limits. Connector matching and Tigo’s current compatibility information also form part of the design.

Monitoring chain

In the standard wireless arrangement, rooftop units send module information to a Tigo Access Point. The TAP connects by RS485 to Cloud Connect Advanced, which provides data logging and the link to Tigo Energy Intelligence. An optional power-line communication arrangement is also available, so the equipment schedule needs to identify which method is being used.

The enclosure is rated IP68 and the stated operating range is -40°C to 85°C. The unit is 139.7 × 138.4 × 22.9 mm, weighs 520 g and has a stated 25-year warranty, subject to Tigo’s terms.

Tigo frames the rapid-shutdown function around US National Electrical Code requirements and compatible system certification. This does not mean the same function is a blanket requirement for every UK installation.
